Kdo je metallografický technik
The metallographic lab technician investigates the structural features of metals and their alloys. He collects samples of materials, prepares them, and then analyzes them under a microscope. The technician monitors changes in the structure of metal during various processing stages. He examines the impact of temperature and other conditions on the mechanical properties of materials. Using specialized equipment, the technician measures characteristics such as hardness, strength, and ductility. The results of his work help engineers improve technological processes. The metallographic lab technician actively collaborates with other professionals, discussing results and suggesting improvements. In his work, he ensures measurement accuracy and adheres to quality standards, which guarantees the reliability of results. He constantly develops his skills, exploring new analysis methods and modern technologies. The technician processes information, compiles reports based on the data obtained, and draws conclusions for further use in scientific or production purposes.

Studium trvá 4 roky a zahrnuje praxi v laboratořích. V ČR nabízejí tyto programy například průmyslové střední školy v Praze, Brně nebo Ostravě.
2. Krátkodobé specializované kurzy
Specializované kurzy metalografie nabízejí například ČVUT Praha (kurzy pro průmysl) nebo soukromá vzdělávací centra. Kurzy trvá týpicky 1–3 měsíce a zahrnují přípravu metalografických vzorků, práci s optíckým mikroskopem a interpretaci mikrostruktur.
3. Stáž v průmyslové laboratoři
Průmyslové podniky (hutní, strojní, automotivy) v ČR pravidelně nabízejí stáže ve svých materialových laboratořích. Během stáže získáte zkusenosti s přípravou vzorků, metalografickým leptáním a vyhodnocováním mikrostruktur.
