Jak se stát oftalmologem
Oftalmolog je lékař, takže vede jen jedna cesta a je dlouhá — vysokoškolské lékařské vzdělání je povinné. Žádná zkratka neexistuje. Po studiu medicíny následuje specializační příprava (atestace) v oboru oftalmologie.
1. Lékařská fakulta a atestace
Jediná zákonná cesta: vystudovat všeobecné lékařství na lékařské fakultě (zpravidla 6 let) a získat titul MUDr. Poté nastupujete do specializačního vzdělávání v oboru oftalmologie, které končí atestací. Bez ní nelze obor samostatně vykonávat.
2. Kurzy a stáže pro lékaře
Krátké kurzy a odborné stáže v oftalmologii doplňují a aktualizují znalosti, ale nemohou nahradit lékařské vzdělání. Jsou užitečné v rámci celoživotního vzdělávání, samy o sobě však neopravňují k výkonu povolání.
3. Specializační vzdělávání
Specializační příprava v oboru oftalmologie je možná až po dokončení lékařské fakulty. Probíhá na akreditovaných pracovištích pod vedením zkušených lékařů a je povinnou součástí cesty k atestaci. Bez lékařského vzdělání ji nelze zahájit.
4. Praxe pod dohledem
Praktickou zkušenost získáváte během specializačního vzdělávání na klinických pracovištích pod dohledem atestovaných oftalmologů. Je to nezbytná fáze pro osvojení vyšetřovacích a léčebných postupů, nikdy však nenahradí lékařské vzdělání.
Rychlá cesta zde neexistuje: oftalmologem se stanete pouze přes lékařskou fakultu, kmenovou a specializovanou přípravu a atestaci v oboru. Jde o mnohaleté studium dané zákonem. Poté lékaři udržují registraci v ČLK a celoživotně se vzdělávají.
