Jak se stát umělcem

Umělcem se stáváte hlavně praxí a portfoliem, ne titulem. Formální umělecké vzdělání dá akademický základ a komunitu, mnoho úspěšných umělců je ale samouků, kteří systematicky pracují na technice a vlastním stylu. Pro tuto profesi se nevyžaduje žádné oprávnění.

1. Umělecká škola nebo titul

Studium výtvarného umění na umělecké vysoké škole dá hluboký základ v kresbě, malbě a kompozici a přístup k ateliérům a výstavám. Je to důkladná cesta, ne ale nutná ani nejrychlejší.

2. Střední umělecká škola nebo kurz

Střední umělecká škola nebo umělecký kurz vybuduje solidní technické dovednosti rychleji než vysoká škola. Dobrá volba pro praktický start a pro sestavení portfolia.

3. Samostudium a portfolio

Samostatná práce na technice (online kurzy, workshopy, pravidelná tvorba) spolu se silným portfoliem je nejrychlejší a nejpružnější cesta. Klienti i zaměstnavatelé se dívají nejdřív na vaši práci, ne na diplom.

4. Dobrovolnictví a komunitní umění

Účast na nástěnných malbách, komunitních uměleckých iniciativách a dobrovolnických projektech — i přes mezinárodní organizace jako AIESEC — dá praktickou zkušenost, kusy do portfolia a užitečné kontakty v umělecké komunitě.

Nejvíc rozhoduje neustálá tvorba, rozvíjení rozpoznatelného stylu a budování portfolia (i online). Studium na umělecké škole pomáhá, není ale nutné; zapojení do komunitních a dobrovolnických uměleckých projektů je dobrý způsob, jak získat zkušenost, kontakty a první zakázky.
