He precisely measures the space and determines how much material is needed. Before starting work, the plasterer typically cleans the surfaces of dust, dirt, and old coverings. He carefully checks for cracks or defects that need to be repaired. Only after this does he proceed to apply the plaster mix.Using various tools like trowels, floats, and levels, he evenly distributes the mix across the surface. The plasterer controls the thickness of the layer and aims to achieve perfect results. Once the application is finished, he uses special techniques to create the desired texture. The job sometimes requires height skills. The plasterer climbs scaffolding or uses special platforms to reach difficult areas. He always follows safety rules to avoid injuries. After the plasterer completes his work, the applied mixture needs to dry. The plasterer constantly checks the surface condition to ensure it dries evenly. If necessary, he may perform additional sanding or correction of defects. This profession requires attentiveness and patience, as even the smallest inaccuracy can affect the final appearance of the room. The plasterer always focuses on quality, as his work impacts the subsequent wall finishing and the overall look of the interior.

Orario di lavoro e condizioni

A plasterer typically works 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, from Monday to Friday. The days off are Saturday and Sunday. The work primarily takes place at construction sites, but there may also be indoor work. Sometimes the job can be physically demanding, requiring the lifting and moving of heavy materials and equipment. The workday may start early in the morning to take advantage of cooler weather, especially during the hot summer months. A plasterer must be prepared to work in various weather conditions, except for strong winds, rain, or snow, as the job involves using binding mixtures and materials sensitive to weather. The job of a plasterer does not allow for remote work, as being on-site is crucial. However, there may be instances when part of the work can be done in a workshop or office, such as preparing materials or creating special molds for architectural details. A plasterer should be in good physical shape, have endurance, and be able to work as part of a team, as the job often requires coordination with other specialists on the construction site. Come diventare un intonacatore

2. Apprendistato o percorso professionale

Molte imprese assumono apprendisti senza esperienza e li formano in cantiere sotto intonacatori esperti.

3. Tirocinio in cantiere
